I Will Always Remember You
About 15 minutes before Mom's ride came to pick her up and take her back home, Vanessa decided to head up and play in her room.

Perhaps she knows how frail her "Nana" is, for Vanessa told her that she would always remember her, and gave her a big hug and kiss to go with it.

I certainly hope this wasn't a final parting, but Mom is certainly looking more frail. Her hands and legs are coursed with deep blue veins. I remember that this was how Erika's long-time neighbour Mr. Moore used to look, and he too required constant oxygen.

One of my chief regrets is that my Father never lived long enough to see the face of his first grandchild. All of my Grandparents save one were dead by the time I arrived on the scene, and while my maternal Grandmother saw me, I have no memory of her (I was barely 1 year old when she visited, and died within a year or so after). I am glad that Vanessa got to meet and know he "Nana", and will most likely grow up with her maternal Grandmother and Grandfather (both natural and step) and get to know them well.
