This might sound like a way for making a recipe of crushed Barbie, but these are the things we picked up at a couple of yard sales today while heading to/from Vanessa's ballet class this morning. Gotta love yard sales: the Barbie's were a dollar apiece, the ice crusher $2 (perfect for making icy Painkillers) and two Roald Dahl books (The Witches and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) for a buck. Annie in particular was thrilled with her new Barbie (the first she can call her own) and played with it all day.
After the ballet class I took the kids to the movie theatre for some frozen yogurt. I also picked up a copy of Kiki's Delivery Service on DVD, a charming Japanese animated film about a young witch who leaves home and helps people out while setting up her own flying-broom-based courier service. I had been playing a version of this I had downloaded earlier in the week for Vanessa, and she (and let's face it, I) was so taken with it I though it worthwhile to invest in the DVD.
Was feeling under the weather today, so much of the day was pretty low key, spent in and around the house mostly.
