Needed to get some writing done for The Computer Paper today, especially my monthly installment of Web Weaving series. Erika whisked Vanessa out of the house for much of the day, giving me the peace and quiet to write. I finished off writing the 62nd installment of the Web Weaving series today -- which is impressive if you realize that I've been writing this on a more or less monthly basis since May 1995. Also finished writing the review of Ken Aulette's World War 3.0: Microsoft and its Enemies, and a listing of largely Canadian photography Web sites. Total word count for all three: about 2,600 words. The listing of photography-related Web sites took longer than I expected, largely because I had trouble finding many decent-looking ones. There are a lot of photographers and photography-related sites -- many containing great pictures, but who can't put a Web site together worth beans. Was hoping to make a wholly Canadian listing, but in the end I had to resort to sites listed elsewhere geographically, as I couldn't find 10 Canadian sites I wanted to list in the article. Also put a request in with New Riders/Pearson Educational publishers for number of recent titles to review, including Jeffrey Veen's new book which I am keen to have a look at. With luck, will head into The Computer Paper's offices downtown and pick up the latest batch of titles waiting for me. Got treated to a great sushi dinner at Yumei Sushiin the Beach, courtesy of Jean. Vanessa enjoys the food, and ended up getting an enormous helping of green tea ice cream, which she loves.
