The Horror of LondonThoughts of a First-Time Visitor to London, England
Got this email this morning from a friend from work who is currently in London on business. It's his first time there. I LOL-ed when I saw this email from him this morning:

Hello from the other side of the pond! Here are a few thoughts on my trip so far...

Why do only 1 out of 4 cabbie know where anything is?
It's scarier in a London cab than an Acapulco cab.
I have to keep reminding myself - I'm the one that talks funny
I should eat Indian food more often.
No AC in the hotel = no sleep in the hotel.
Hotel shower head dispenses slightly more water than a dripping faucet.
10 TV channels! (I think most of them are BBC)
They have a channel 1.
I can't understand guy behind the desk at the gas bar here either!
No Tim Hortons.Ouch!

I've never been to Acapulco, so the cabbies may in fact be wonderful and telepathic, but otherwise I suspect he has had a rare bad experience with a London cabbie. Everything else I can easily understand though.

Wonder if Tim Hortons can be convinced to locate one of their shops over there for ex-pat Canadians desperately seeking a maple-flavoured donut and a double-double coffee... ;-)
