More Family History Stuff
It's funny how things sometime happens in "waves". This past weekend I was sitting down with my Mother, going through old family photographs and jotting down what she remembered of various long-gone relatives, and the weekend prior to that I was at the Toronto Reference Library looking at the 1881 U.K. census records. Then today I get an email from a member of the Okill clan from Australia (a fellow I had corresponded with a few months ago) who passes along some amazing information about a branch of the Okill family dating back to the 17th century. I also get an email from my Uncle John who passed along further info to me about his side of the family (the Alder/Stuart side). I also run across some interesting info about about a fellow who seems to have come from an American offshoot of one of the Okill clans (I use the word in a non-formal sense here), and helped found part of Queen's University, my alma mater.

As for the massive Okill family info I recieved, unfortunately I can't find any positive links to the branch I am related to. There appears to be two main branches of the family: one based out of the Liverpool area, and one out of the London area. There may well be a link between the two, but that remains to be seen. Have sent an email to the fellow who supplied this information to the Aussie Okill in the hopes he may have further information about the Liverpudlian Okills.
