Vanessa's First Day in Kindergarten
Yesterday was Vanessa's first day in Kindergarten. Vanessa apparently had a blast during her afternoon at school, helped in part by the fact that she has a friend there who lives just up the street from us. She actually gets homework too! (I don't remember getting homework in Kindergarten!)

It seems to have been a good decision to put her in immediately instead of waiting until January. Erika and I know she's ready for it.

Book Writing Progress
Made some major inroads on the first section on Sunday, though it is admittedly the shortest section of the book (it consists of three chpaters). Finished off revising Chapter One, and made significant updates and changes to Chapter Two. In Chapter Three I'll add the browsre detect routine I use in order to set CSS code externally, and try to further emphasize using global CSS values from a remote file, a topic which will recieve further emphasis this time around.

My Web Weaving article this month was the first in a mini-series of pieces on Internet Explorer 5.5 extensions to CSS, which I'll reuse and expand upon further for a new section in the book dealing with all of them. Since I've got another writing weekend coming up, I should definitely get the first section done and out of the way (and hopefully, make a siginificant start on Section Two)! Am still debating whether or not to merge the sections dealing with CSS1 and CSS2 into one major section, though I am leaning towards doing it that way. It would at least save on the page count, and I can still identify properties which belong purely to the CSS2 specification. At this point it still makes sense to me to keep the sections on CSS Extensions and CSS3 seperate -- at least the CSS3 portions which are wholly new.
