I always detested the Wesley Crusher character on ST:TNG, and always though he was the least human, and most uni-dimensional of the characters that appeared on the show. But I don't think the writers ever knew what to do with him. I mean, in the pseudo-utopian world of Trek, there seemed to be little room for such things as the pains of growing up. I suspect the reason why many people disliked the character so much was that it was, in essence, a missed opportunity.
Anyways, this is just a prelude to saying that while I think Wesley Crusher as a character was sub-rate, the actor who played him -- Wil Wheaton -- is most decidedly not. His wilwheaton.com is one of the best Blog-type sites I've seen out there, in terms of content. There's a real person there, and he's got something to say, and it's interesting. His recent interview on Slashdot is worth a read.
The Web site could do with a bit of work though -- if I have extra copies maybe I'll send him a copy of my next Core CSS. ;-) Him and phancy. They've earned it if only for the times I've enjoyed myself when reading their respective sites.
