Just Call Me Mr. Report-Writing-Guy
There's a well-known saying: no good deed goes unpunished. My report went over so well that the CFO asked if I could do a quick summary outline of some future strategies derived from the report I had just handed in. (Sorry, can't go into details for obvious reasons. ;-) This isn't as bad as it sounds, and it actually made for a good lead-in for another report I had promised and that was due for the firm next week, giving me a chance to clarify some ideas and themes to chase up. So, other than taking care of some minor Web site issues, that's what I did for the rest of the day.

Thankfully I got the buy-in to make this another work at home day -- since I'm creating reports there's little reason for me to head to the Oakville office, especially since my colleagues are busy with their own end-of-quarter goals. I was finished a draft of the summary report by mid-afternoon, and then stopped, realizing I was too close to the subject to write sensibly about it anymore, and vowed to come back to it over the weekend in order to gain some distance from the subject.

Vanessa's friend Charlotte came over for a sleepover late that afternoon. Both were very excited, and I think this *may* have been Charlotte's first sleepover. The most fun they both had was in the evening when we ran a bath in the large tub for the both of them, added some bubble soap and then turned on "the bubble-izer" (air jets contained in the tub). The kids gleefully dived into as soon as the bubbled got to about the height of their heads, and frolicked in it for about an hour. At the end of it an excited Charlotte called her parents and told them how "the bubbles reached as high as the ceiling" (they didn't, but the hyperbole was cute). Just before I put them both to bed, Charlotte asked if she could have another bubble bath tomorrow morning. ;-)
