Just One of Those Busy Saturdays...
Like most excited young kids on a sleepover, both Vanessa and Charlotte were up early. After breakfast I set up the large tub for yet another bubble bath, as they requested -- the second in as many days. They ought to be really clean by now. ;-)

In the middle of it somebody buzzed the door. It turned out to be the window installers -- something I had completely forgotten about. They proceeded to rip out the old windows on the third floor (two in Vanessa's bedroom and on in the hallway) and over the course of the next few hours install new ones and then cap them. A terrific job.

In the middle of all of the work we had to get Charlotte ready to go back home later that morning, as well as get Vanessa dressed up for the Nicole K.'s birthday party that began at noontime. I stayed with Annie while Erika delivered Vanessa, and I asked Erika if she could pick up the GVC network switch from Michael K. while she was there, promising her Internet access finally set up on her computer that wekend if she did.

Sometimes I get into "cleaning mode". Often it is because I am trying to avoid doing something, but this time it was just because I wanted the place clean. I ended up vacuuming all three upper floors of the house, and re-arranged the contents of our larder cupboards, as always making some interesting discoveries. ("So that's where that [insert name of random food item] went!")

Erika practiced the trumpet with her band mate from across the street, and I kept the kids entertained in the meantime -- thanks primarily to some Bugs Bunny cartoons I had snagged previously.

After the kids went to bed and with my dear wife watching yet another ice skating competition ;-) upstairs, I descended into the depths of my office space, turned down the lights and held a mini-marathon of the Cowboy Bebop anime for myself. Marvelous animation, decent scripts (though I think they get progressively more "wobbly" as the season progresses) and genuinely hip with substance. Kudos to the Cartoon Network for carrying this series.

Crashed out afterwards, very tired from the previous events of the day...
