Launching the New Web Site
A very busy day. Got up early in order to try and finish the work on the External DV Web site. Just as I thought we are about ready to “go”, I got an email from James from HK asking for some last minute changes. They were significant changes made at the request of the sales people. After a bunch of emails between me and him I figured out exactly what was wanted and in record time made the necessary changes.

Then I got final approval to push it all "live". Made final checks, then asked Peter L. to make the necessary switch of the new site content for the old one. I was really pleased with myself when I got the call from Pete asking me to check the results.

Still more work to be done on the site, and admittedly I am leery about going on vacation right after launching it, but I am confident of its stability. If anything blows up, I know it won’t be too bad. ;-)

It’s a good Web site. It still needs work, and I am not completely happy with it in its current state, but it is a step in the right direction. Will keep an eye on the logs to see what happens in the way of hits to the site.

Went to donate blood late in the afternoon at the local clinic. Lying down on the bed as a pint was siphoned out of me was the first time I was able to really relax today.

Need that vacation…
