Turned off the TV. Switched off the radio. Overload.
Much like this day last year, I was working at home. Glad I was. I remember switching the small television set I had around 10-ish. I remember being initially confused when I heard the newscaster talk about what happened to the World Trade Center in New York -- "isn't it known as the Twin Towers?" I thought to myself as I looked at the single, standing structure. Shortly afterwards, it too collapsed.
Today the kids got extra hugs.
After putting the kids to bed, I spent much of the rest of the evening writing overdue emails to friends.
