In fact, two. One was for 70K, the other at 86K. No surprise as to which offer I went for.
The larger offer is still 4K below the asking price, but is more than I though we would get.
The greater offer is dependant on a number of things, including their financing, a house inspection (the house's foundations need seeing to, but anybody who goes into the house will recognize that), retaining the appliances (again, not a problem -- just the opposite in fact). Am hoping it goes through, because at least that would be an end to it, and the closing date they want (mid-November) would give me the time I need to get everything moved/stored/dealt with in one way or another.
The house has only been on the market for less than a week, so even if this somehow doesn't go through, it is encouraging nevertheless. (Apparently there's not a lot available on the low-end of the market in Keswick at the moment).
