Today is Erika's last day of filming on her movie, now tentatively titled The Devil's Throat. I haven't mentioned too much about the movie before, as I didn't want to potentially get her into any trouble. She's grumbled a lot about working on this film, but now, at it's conclusion, she says that it wasn't so bad. For example, now that she really knows him (and knows what to expect) she would work with the director again. She enjoyed working with Pawel, the sound mixer for this film, who was whisked away from LA in order to work on this Toronto production.
Things have to be finished today since this is the last day that they have all of the principle actors (other than Dennis Quaid, who finished his part on Saturday). In other words, it's their last chance to get everything they need. So it promises to be a long day -- 20 hours is what Erika predicted.
Erika was impressed with Dennis Quaid. She found him a confident actor who knows his craft, hits his mark, and a real professional. About a week or so ago Vanessa and Annie accompanied by their nanny visited the film set. (When I returned home from work that day, Vanessa was very excited to tell me about having visited "Mommy's office". ;-) Apparently Dennis took a liking to the kids, and at day's end a package was left for Erika containing a DVD of his last Disney film. Erika also got to work with the likes of Sharon Stone, Stephen Dorff and Christopher Plummer on this film.
Erika's plans after this film is to simply "coast" for a while, probably through Xmas. Spending more time with the kids, and generally being a Mom.
