Appliance Delivery
Today we got the new fridge and clothes washer. They were both originally delivered late in the afternoon. I say "originally" because in the case of the fridge, they brought us the wrong one. Some aggressive talking from Erika on the phone to Sears did the trick, and the new fridge was delivered by a heavy-duty courier firm at around 8pm that evening. (It was just as well – otherwise we would have had to wait until next Wednesday!)

The fridge is the same dimension as the old one, but its shelf space arrangement seems much more rational. When we put back all of the food from the old fridge (which had been crammed into the drinks fridge and the freezer downstairs) we had plenty of space left over.
There was a small mishap with the clothes washer -- the water outflow pipe had been misconnected, and we had the makings of a mini-flood, though I managed to rush upstairs and turn it off before there was too much water. Erika figured out what was up and things have been smooth sailing ever since.
