With the arrival of the CFO of our company here for a week-long visit yesterday, we were all expected to be here for the various seminars he was going to present over the course of the week. Since I also wanted to get some more work on my book done as well, I arranged with Erika to stay at a hotel practically across the street from where I work: The Oakville Inn Hotel.
I have stayed here previously – a couple of years ago when I needed to do a blitz on some work for the then start-up PanelX.com. Different circumstances this time, but am hoping to dop a similar blitz on the book.
Turns out the place is under new ownership since last I was here. While the hotel is still best described as non-descript, the place seems tidier and brighter than I remembered it. Am not sure it's worth the extra $25 per night over the old rate, but at least everything is clean.
Make some headway on the book, though I discover to my horror that not of the material I thought I had transferred over to my notebook from my "base" machine at home in fact made it over the wireless connection. I seems to have cacked out at some point in the process. I still manage to get some work done though, and hope that I've transferred enough recent material from my book to my machine at the office.
