It was Erika's "day off", so I took the kids to the Metro Toronto Zoo. It was the first time there for little Annie, who was very happy to be running around in a new space willy-nilly, and occasionally noticing the animals there. I noticed that our family membership was set to expire at the end of the month, so I decided to renew our membership there for another two years. We'll definitely use it, that's for sure.
It's funny which things Annie was most interested in: she took a long look at "the wall o' fish" (the chiclid display in the Africa pavilion), gazing at all of the colourful fish swimming to and fro; a quiescent mother alligator guarding her newly-laid eggs; the bobbing be-bumped bulk of a pigmy hippo swimming in the water under a bridge. "Ohhh" she would say to these things.
It was a lot of work keeping an eye on these two, and though the visit was enjoyable, I had to do a lot of chasing around in order to keep Annie from straying too far, though Vanessa was very helpful in this regard.
