Annie's New Words
Little Annie is burbling more and more these days, and is coming out with more interesting words and names, almost on a daily basis.

This past weekend I heard her say "Nessa" quite clearly, which is a close approximation of her sister's name "Vanessa". Last evening, when Erika called me from my downstairs office for dinner, I came up the stairs to a smiling Annie saying "Keeeeith" back to me. She has also begun to say her own name, though it is still easy to hear her "Annie" as "Daddy" or "Mommy" – the emphasis is very much on the "y" sound at the end.

She also has a very cute-sounding, querulous "no". Try saying "no" as if you were saying "meow?" and you'll get an idea as to what it sounds like. The obverse is even funnier – instead of saying "yes", she says "yeeeaaahhh" with a jazzy twang, exactly the way that Erika and I kiddingly use it between ourselves.
