Vanessa's Ballet Performance
This was the final day of Vanessa's classes for the season, and it was also "the big show". Poor Vanessa was all worried about "performing on stage" as we headed over to the recreation centre, and I did my best to take her mind off of it. Of course she was fine when we got there, and as the teacher led her through her steps she did just fine. Of course it was all very cute: a bunch of traipsing little girls wearing tutus of various shades of pink and purple jumping and bounding after their teacher to the tune of "Teddy Bears' Picnic". Unfortunately Erika didn't get to see it as she was attending a seminar on mixing live sound for HDTV. I took a number of photos of the performance, including a QuickTime movie on my digital camera of one of the "performances".

I had vowed that this was going to be a relatively relaxing day, involving no extensive travel anywhere. So I let the girls play at the rec centre's playroom for a good long time, rented a couple of kid movies for Vanessa's benefit, journeyed back home and made them a kid friendly lunch (chicken dinosaurs). Then a nap for everybody, including Dad. ;-) Afterwards, watched a movie, and then went out on an expedition to get "flowers for Mommy" and then back home for a kid-friendly dinner (macaroni and cheese with hot dogs and broccoli). Put both kids in the big bath, and soon after it was time to put them to bed.

Did some further editing/writing on the book, and then relaxed for an hour reading. A nice, relatively peaceful Saturday...
