Mama Mia Part Two
Some time ago, I bought my Aunt Audrey S. a ticket to see Mama Mia. Since I can no longer spoil my Mom now that she's passed away, I figure it can't hurt to spoil one of my favourite Aunts instead. :-)

The performance was last night, so of course, this morning I asked her: "How did it go?"

Her reply:

In a word - fantastic:):)

The evening started rather badly, when I arrived at the subway, I wondered why my shoes were making such a clatter, so took them off, and discovered that both heels had broken in half - I dashed/hobbled, back home to change, and when I got back to the subway, the attendant had closed the booth – 10 minutes early. So I had to go down to the entrance on Bedford. I thought to myself, this is not good:(

Anyway, I got to the theatre and was blown away with my seat - specially as it was also the aisle seat I had hoped for. Things were really looking up:)

The opening bars of the show told me loud and clear (emphasis on loud) that this was going to be my kind of show - loud/energetic/my favourite songs – I totally enjoyed the humour, the cast, the costumes, the sets, and the story - even the audience, which seemed to be universally totally involved in the whole production.

As a bonus, because I was so close to the front, I could see the "orchestra" and enjoyed having a good peek at the whole set up during the interval - then I discovered the TV screens on the mezzanine and occasionally took a look at the girl (music director) busily tapping the organ keys - could just see 2 men from my seat, so was intrigued as to what was happening.

Now, if only the rain gods had decided to give us all a break, I could (was planning to) have watched the total eclipse of the moon on the way home - guess one can't have everything:)

Thank you very much indeed Keith for my ticket.

Audrey
