CoreCSS.com and Starting the Writing for "Arcade Box"
Spent a much longer portion of the day than I expected finishing off the CSS compatibility tests for the www.corecss.com Web site. Part of the reason is because I ended up going back and re-testing some previously tested CSS properties in browsers I had already done initial checks on, mainly to double-check that things worked as I said they did. In the end I managed to finish off the listing for the master chart by getting all of the results for OmniWeb, and managed to determine which of the Internet Explorer-specific scrollbar properties was working in Konqueror. Considering that these are not "official" properties and yet they worked in Konqueror, I did further testing of Internet Explorer-specific properties in Konqueror, and didn't find anything else.

Once I put that to bed I decided to change focus and start working on the new "Arcade Box" book in earnest, starting with the history of arcade games. Learned plenty of fascinating stuff I hadn't heard of before, and I hope I managed to put over that same fascination to the eventual readers of the book. I quit sometime around 2pm, and while I only ended up writing about 1500 words on the narrow topic of the first prototype games up until the advent of Atari's Pong, it felt like a good start. Still have plenty to cover in this area, and I'd like to look at how the whole concept of paying for playing (as opposed to gambling) came about, which I understand started with small bar-side games at the beginning of the 20th century, leading eventually to mechanical games and pinball.
