Personalized Nigerian Scam Letter
I first ran across my first Nigerian scam email years ago, and immediately recognized it as the email form of a similar scam that they used to work on fax machines. I have even written an article referencing them in the past. I still occasionally get a few sprinkled in with my daily dose of spam emails, and delete them out of hand. But the following took the cake – a semi-personalized Nigerian scam email. Considering that my last name is almost completely unique – my wife and I are undoubtedly the only Schengili-Robertses out of the billions of people on this Earth, it was highly amusing to discover I had a long-lost wealthy relative of the same last name. Yeah, right.

It does bug me that this guy obviously has a database that ties email addresses to last names, and possibly more. Ugh, don't want to think too much about that.
