More Wikipedia Entries
Following the lead from the other day, I managed to submit four short pieces to Wikipedia earlier this evening, all trying to fill in the gaps about CBC radio comedies I am familiar with.
Following the lead from the other day, I managed to submit four short pieces to Wikipedia earlier this evening, all trying to fill in the gaps about CBC radio comedies I am familiar with.
They are:
All rate as fairly minor CBC radio comedy shows (though the Mr. Interesting series is a personal favourite), and Here Come the Seventies is, frankly, downright obscure. Not even the CBC properly documents any of these shows on their Web site, so it's good to have a place to write such (adnmittedly trivial) knowledge down somewhere.Interesting how Canuck comedies tend to veer into either the more urbane, surreal sketches or into topical, political satire. No successful equivalent to the situation comedies that first evolved out of the States has ever emerged that I can think of. That's a PhD topic out there for somebody I suspect. ;-)
