Vanessa Gets Glasses Too
Erika went with the kids and her sister downtown to the Eaton Centre to pick up Annie's glasses. It was a "Mommy Day" so I was left at home so that I can do some research I wanted to do as well as run a couple of errands.

Sometime after 1pm I got a call from Erika asking what my glasses coverage from work was. Turned out that Erika had taken Vanessa in for a check-up, and it turned out she was near-sighted and needed glasses just like her little sister. She at least doesn't have the astigmatism Annie and I have, but it turns out that objects in the distance were blurry. This took me by surprise as I hadn't seen any hints of it, but when she got home sporting her new glasses she told me about how much better she could see things. Apparently when she first put them on she told her Mother that she could now see things a lot better than before, and that she would never take them off.

Annie is still reluctant to wear hers, and I suspect she doesn't fully perceive the need for them as yet. That should change when she enters school in a couple of weeks.
