Saw Chicken Little with the Kids
A rainy day – a good day to take the kids to the local theatre.

The movie has been over-hyped for months, and from what I had seen I wasn't expecting much, so on that basis it didn't disappoint. Technically proficient as 3D animation goes, but hardly compelling when it comes to the storyline, or characterization. Lots of good voice talent — having Don Knotts as a mayoral turkey was brilliant — but it gets lost in the frenetic pace of the movie.

Vanessa best summed it up after the movie was over, when I asked her whether or not she liked it. She said it was okay, but that she liked "Madagascar" better. Forget Pixar – in her mind this film wasn't even as good as the last outing by DreamWorks.
