As of February, this blog will have been around for 5 years. Thing is, it had looked like it had been around that long. Time for a change, or at least a significant update.
Hence, the new look. It's one of the funkier Blogger template styles that I took a fancy to.
More as a lark than anything else I have also instituted AdWords from Google. I am hoping it is relatively unobtrusive, and if this site can somehow recoup at least some of its costs, great. If the experiment doesn't hold up, I'll remove it.
I've also finally added a commenting mechanism. I've held off for a long time since, for the most part, I don't really care what other people think, as this is more a journal of personal events. My friends and relatives know my email address, and can contact me directly if they wanted over something I wrote. Again, it is another experiment.
The Blog search feature is highly desirable, even if only to me, as there have been plenty of times I've wanted to look something up that I had previously written and had to go scouring for it archive link by archive link,
Will have to go in and add further customizations to the underlying code over time. Am not mad keen on the largely vertical format, especially since I like posting my panoramic shots here every now and then. The star-shaped thingy in the top left has to go (to be replaced by my characteristic smiley), and the way the title is spread out over two lines just bugs me. So this will not stay this way completely, but at least it is a start.
